Southern Galilee

We will visit the ruins of Beit Shean that was continuously inhabited for 5000 years and was one of the Roman cities Jesus passed on his way from Galilee to Jerusalem

We will travel West to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. (Matthew 2:23)

Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo where 20 different cities lie superimposed upon each other. The Bible lists the king of Megiddo among the Canaanite rulers defeated by Joshua in his conquest of the land (Josh. 12:21). According to I Kings 9:15, King Solomon fortified Megiddo together with Hazor and Gezer.
This huge round altar at Megiddo, almost 26 feet in diameter and 5 feet high, dates to the Early Bronze Age and was used well into the Late Bronze Age by the Canaanite population.  A large quantity of animal bones were found on and near the altar indicate it usage was for sacrifice and worship

We will finish our day by traveling to the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and the ancieant Roman city of Caesarea Maritima. Here, Cornelius became the first Gentile convert to the new religion (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before being taken to Rome for Trial.  At the Roman Theater,
